Fancy a free treatment for your tresses?
As part of their Afro Hair Workshops taking place in Cork on 8 and 9 June, the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship is offering a treatment completely free to attendees, and it’s easy to get yours, all you need to do is volunteer as a hair model.
Louise Kearney, NHA Support Officer, said: “We would love people to take part. Interested hair models can call us on 061-487948. Models will have their hair pampered and will receive a gratuity to cover expenses. This will be the first of many workshops we will be rolling out nationally covering a whole range of hair types.”
Stylist to the stars Jennie Roberts will also be attending the workshops in June.
“Jennie has worked with a host of celebrities including the Spice Girls, Rita Ora, Ella Eyre, Donald Glover, John Boyega, Lydia West, Sope Dirisu, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Jennie also collaborates with top fashion brands and famous photographers, and she is internationally recognised as a leading expert in textured hair,” Louise said.
The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship, launched in 2019, equips apprentices with the knowledge and skills required by professional hairdressers in a dynamic environment.
The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship programme is delivered nationally through coordinating provider Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board and its collaborating providers like Cork ETB, with campuses in both Cork city and Mallow taking part. Information on the apprenticeship is available on hairdressingapprenticeship.ie or by phone at 061-487948.
