Welcome to Costa Del Cork
I had the loveliest afternoon last week at the Curly Co haircare launch in the new Bloom bar at Hayfield Manor.
We had a delicious brunch and I tried a really lovely faux prosecco or maybe that’s called a nosecco and also got the lowdown from the founder herself of this great new Irish brand.
Curly Co was founded by the fabulous Denise Walsh who with 25 plus years in the hair industry set about finding the perfect way to embrace and care for her own curls and so the brand, a collection of curl enhancing products was born.
I would have very thick hair with a natural wave and I was interested to see how the products would work on my own hair. The shampoo and conditioner smell like summer holidays in a bottle and left my hair super soft and when combined with the mousse, my hair had a lovely wave to it with not a bit of frizz in sight. These products are a must for anyone looking to get the bounce back in their crowning glory.
The day was absolutely stunning and it felt like we were in Costa Del Cork and yes as per usual, I had left it till that morning to decide what to wear. I don’t know why I always pick outfits better under pressure but at the last minute I pulled out my go-to look...a matching set.
I simply do not know how I dressed myself before I discovered a co-ord. Generally, I favour anything that looks like a pyjamas and my set at the event had a luxury pjs feel to it. I picked it up on sale in H&M and it was a silky oversized shirt and wide leg trousers in a green and white stripe.
The beauty of a set is that they are so comfortable to wear but also take very little effort to look dressed up. I added gold mid height, block heels, a shoe that just goes with everything and is essential to the wardrobe and then if in doubt just add layers upon layers of gold jewellery. Gold jewellery or silver if you’re a silver person will instantly elevate any outfit.
A co-ord is perfect for the summer and lends a sort of laid back glamour to the occasion. They also make holiday packing super easy as you have a complete outfit there and ready to go.
I particularly like flowy shirts and light, loose trousers but last summer while I was on holiday in Palma, I also got quite into a shirt and shorts moment.
It just gives a different look and can have quite the club tropicana feel which of course we love. I’ve spotted a beautiful shirt and shorts set in the new Club L London Tequila Sunset collection and it’s a piece that would be absolutely amazing on hot summer nights in an exotic location.
The whole collection makes me immediately want to book a holiday but particularly the set which features a rich watercolour style print of indigo and emerald and the shorts and fluted sleeve of the shirt give a relaxed feel to the look.
Wear the shirt half tucked in or knotted up, whichever feels more comfortable for you.
Just add your best tan, jewels and a margherita in hand for that holiday vibe.
