Graham Norton supports Irish Dogs for the Disabled
Irish Dogs for the Disabled, an Irish charity which provides assistance and task dogs to children and adults living with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s, degenerative muscular dystrophy and spinal cord injuries, was one of 31 charities to receive funding from The Hospital Saturday Fund as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.
The presentation of the funding took place at the Irish Embassy in London, and it was made even more special by the presence of Graham Norton, a longtime friend and supporter of this Cork-based charity.
Dogs for the Disabled has been providing dogs to children and adults with physical disabilities since 2007. The funds the charity receive will be used towards the purchase of a new premises for the charity.
Dogs for Disabled are driven by their wish for a better world, a world where people are not limited by their disability but are active members of society.
Jennifer Dowler, CEO, said: “We can't tell you how much this support from The Hospital Saturday Fund means, it is only thanks to the generosity of donors such as these that we can continue our life changing work." In 2023 The Hospital Saturday Fund will give €2.5m in donations and grants to medical charities for care and research, hospices and hospitals across Ireland and the UK Assistance.
