The Boss set to play 2 Cork gigs
Provisional dates for the summer gigs are believed to be 16 and 18 May and will take place in Páirc Uí Chaoimh
Bruce Springsteen is gearing up for a triumphant return to the Rebel County next summer. Negotiations are currently underway for two electrifying gigs in Cork, with the concerts planned for May 2024.
Although it has yet to be confirmed, the provisional dates for the summer gigs are believed to be 16 and 18 May and will take place in Páirc Uí Chaoimh according to The Irish Independent. GAA fixtures are set to be rescheduled to make way for the return of rock royalty to Cork.
The upcoming visit won't be the Boss's first time gracing Leeside; over a decade ago, he entertained 40,000 fans at Páirc Uí Chaoimh with a memorable performance alongside the E Street Band. On a balmy summer evening in July 2013, Bruce played for over three hours, treating the audience to an unforgettable lineup of his greatest hits. Concluding the show with a solo rendition of his classic 'Thunder Road,' he left a lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to be there on the night.
Along with the Cork concerts next year, it is rumoured that Bruce will also be playing Kilkenny, however, dates have yet to be finalised. It seems that Dublin will not be included in his 2024 tour plans, as no concerts are scheduled for the capital.
Earlier this year, Springsteen wowed fans with three sell-out shows in the RDS, ending a seven-year wait for The Boss's return to Dublin. However, it appears that the city will have to wait a bit longer for another dose of Springsteen magic.
There were no major concerts at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in 2023. However, last year the stadium played host to Ed Sheeran, Elton John and Westlife. For fans hoping for a summer day out in 2024, it’s looking promising that they will have something to look forward to now that Bruce will be back in town.
