Child cyclist in critical condition
A child cyclist has been left in critical condition after a serious road traffic collision in county Cork at the weekend.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the accident which occurred just after 9am on Saturday morning on the Cork road into Carrigaline at the Ballinrea roundabout.
The boy was seriously injured when his bike was struck by a car.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the boy was rushed to CUH. He has since been moved to CHI at Temple Street paediatric hospital in Dublin where he remains in critical condition.
The road was closed, and the scene of the accident was examined by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to them.
