A Christmas Carol at Nano Nagle Place
'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens in the Goldie Chapel is taking place at Nano Nagle Place as part of their festive programme. Ocean of Notions Theatre Company in collaboration with Nano Nagle Place brings back this festive story that will leave you wrapped in the spirit of Christmas.
Speaking ahead of the production, Judie Chalmers, Director of Ocean of Notions Theatre said: “Dickens was no stranger to Cork. Over 160 years ago in 1858, he did an Irish reading tour and declared his Corkonian experience ‘an immense success’. He stayed at the Imperial Hotel, and even kissed the Blarney Stone. We are delighted to be returning with Dickens for the 4th year to the Goldie Chapel with this intimate production of 'A Christmas Carol'.” Kieran O'Leary will bring a host of characters to life including the miserly Scrooge, the humble Bob Cratchit, the Ghost of Jacob Marley bound in chains and the frail Tiny Tim.
This heart-warming adaptation will feature a selection of original carols from Victorian England, sung live by the incredible Michèle de Foubert. Although the carols themselves are original, the arrangement is contemporary.
A unique and atmospheric soundscape, created by composer and sound designer, Shane O'Sullivan will complete this piece.
Programme Manager at Nano Nagle Place, Susannah Ahern, shared her excitement at what they have planned for Christmas in Nano Nagle Place.
