Youth charged after fatal M8 crash

Gardaí investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M8 at Ballybeg, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork in the early hours of Saturday morning, 1 July, have charged a male youth.

The male youth is due to appear before the Juvenile Court in Mallow District Court this morning charged in relation to this fatal road traffic collision.

Gardaí have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

A male teenager, who was a passenger, lost his life in the two-vehicle collision on the M8 at Ballybeg at around 1 am on a Saturday morning.

Additionally, a woman travelling alone in the other vehicle suffered severe injuries in the head-on collision.
