Man, 20s, killed in collision in county Cork

Gardaí are attending the scene of a fatal single vehicle collision in county Cork this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.45am at Gortnalahee, Carrignavar, county Cork.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the driver and sole occupant of the only car involved in the collision.

The road at Gortnalahee remains closed and a technical examination by forensic collision investigators will be conducted. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the Gortnalahee area between 6.35am and 6.55am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
