Go eco-chic with Human Collective

Yes, you want to look great on a night out but most of my time is spent racing around getting jobs done and this day-to-day uniform makes up most of my wardrobe. Human Collective, the award-winning sustainable Irish urban wear brand, is excited to announce its new collaboration with former Miss World Rosanna Davison for its first-ever celebrity collection.

It is made up of cosy winter warmers, including sustainable puffer jackets, gilets, sherpa style zip-up and hooded fleeces, perfect base layers in the form of leggings and long-sleeved tees along with the brand’s signature beanies in a selection of wearable and interchangeable colourways.

The new capsule collection primarily features recycled polyester, organic cotton, and polyamide.

The back story to this Irish brand is also very interesting and Human Collective founder Conor Buckley like many people, undertook a significant career pivot in 2021.

The former director of sales at Ireland’s largest hospitality group was used to a fast-paced work schedule but after the birth of his first child, at the beginning of a pandemic that would obliterate the hospitality sector for more than a year, Buckley had time on his side to consider what was most important to him.

Son of trailblazer and activist Christine Buckley, Conor’s upbringing was deep-rooted in morality as he witnessed his mother go head-to-head with the state for the rights of women and children in industrial schools around the country. From there Human Collective was born.

Buckley was adamant about creating quality leisurewear with a cause. Something people could and would want to wear daily that wouldn’t impact negatively on the planet and would also benefit organisations close to his heart.

The brand ethos centres on quality and equality and €3 from the sale of every sweatshirt goes directly to three important Irish charities that aim to help level the social playing field: SARI (Sports Against Racism Ireland), The Irish Youth Foundation and LGBT Ireland.

Rosanna Davison says of the collaboration: “I’m honoured to team up with Human Collective, Conor Buckley, and his brilliant team to bring out our new capsule collection.

“The brand stands for everything that I believe in, with its focus on equality, sustainability, organic fabrics, and its vegan credentials, as I’ve been eating a vegan diet for more than a decade, so it ties in with my core values. The collection is of a beautiful quality. I love that it's unisex, very much inclusive, and that they’re the kind of clothes that are perfect for everyday wear.”

Some of the pieces that I think are wardrobe essentials are the puffer jackets that will take you from the school gate, winter walks or pottering around in the colder months to the sherpa style fleece hoodie and is super cosy and perfect for everyday wear. The leggings in super soft organic cotton are also must haves and the neutral colourway ensures everything works together perfectly.

Now is the time to make that investment in your basics and step into the new year in style.
