An archaeological win for Leeside
A Cork archaeology firm has won two national awards in recognition for is dedication to being a “Considerate Constructor”.
Rubicon Heritage Services in Midleton picked up the awards at this year’s Considerate Constructors Scheme’s Leading Lights Awards.
The Cork firm won the Overall Organisation Award in the Community category for their ‘Shindig Archaeology Podcast’, and a second award, the Organisation Award, in the same category.
The podcast was recognised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) for connecting with new audiences and raising awareness of the economic and cultural importance of developer-funded archaeology, positively engaging with local communities, and inspiring future generations of archaeologists.
Over 350 guests from the UK and Ireland’s construction industry attended the awards ceremony, which was held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, in central London recently.
Congratulating this year’s award winners, Executive Chairman of the CCS, Amit Oberoi said: “These construction sites, organisations, and individuals should be immensely proud of their success.
“The enthusiasm and considerate practice they have shown in being a Considerate Constructor is highly commendable; achieving great standards through initiatives across communities, the environment and the industry’s workforce.”
