Breakfast event to highlight women in digital
A prominent Cork charity aims to celebrate the achievements of women in the digital space with a special breakfast event.
The Hope Foundation (HOPE), founded by a Cork woman Maureen Forrest, is running the event on 8 March at The River Lee Hotel from 7am to 9am on International Women's Day. This event aims to be an empowering and motivating experience for all guests.
Under the theme of Women in Digital, it will feature distinguished guest speakers who have made significant contributions to the digital industry. Muriel Foley, Founder & Managing Director of MGFD Digital Consultancy and Eimear Hallahan, a Cork-based influencer & digital content creator, will share their insights, experiences, and visions for the future. As well as learning key tricks and tips from the speakers, guests will have the opportunity to network and forge valuable connections, in a relaxed informal setting. From startups to established organisations, the event aims to inspire and support women at every stage of their digital journey.
2024 marks 25 years of HOPE's work in Kolkata, India. Beginning with the protection of 13 girls in 1999, they now protect and empower thousands of girls to create equal opportunities for street-connected and slum-dwelling communities in Kolkata and other areas of West Bengal.
“Supporting HOPE is supporting girls, their rights & their future. Supporting events like the Women in Digital Breakfast is vital to our fundraising efforts here in Cork,” said Maureen Forrest, Founding President of The Hope Foundation.
“HOPE is committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality, and this breakfast provides a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of women, not just in the digital world but across all sectors and industries. We would be very grateful for your attendance.”
