Timeless pieces will carry you from season to season
It can be so hard to know what to wear this time of year, it’s warm, it’s windy, it’s sunny and rainy.
Typical March weather in Ireland I hear you say.
I just want to wear outfits that are simple, paired back and require very little styling to look good and there are some excellent pieces from the new Postcards from Marrakesh collection that do just the job.
The collection is inspired by the fiery sunsets of beautiful and vibrant Marrakesh but also combine very neutrals and textures to create timeless pieces that will carry you from season to season.
The colour palette is a dreamy mix of rusts, light pinks and peaches which sit so well with the taupes, black and cream pieces.
Sure, there are beautiful summer dresses featuring rich floral print and stylish cutouts which would be the perfect look for a summer wedding but there’s also some really great knit co-ords and dresses that you could style to be worn at any time of the year.
Take a simple slip dress which you could wear for a night out with a barely there sandal and a leather jacket, layer with a cosy, chunky knitwear and trainers for now or style with an open white shirt and flat leather sandals for the summer.
I love the idea of not really having to pack too much clothing away with the changing of seasons and just having a core wardrobe of items I can wear all the time.
A co-ord is another look that is just so very versatile, and I love the Kourtney knit two piece from this Pretty Lavish collection.
Again, it’s a look you can style for a night out having dinner with friends and it would work so well with a heel and some gold jewellery, add an oversized blazer to complete the look.
The waistcoat and loose trousers also make it perfect to wear in summer with tan sandals and for spring I would pop over a blazer and trench coat and style with some Converse or chunky trainers.
There’s lots of the collection that would work well for holidays and I’m getting very inspired to book a trip somewhere…perhaps even to Marrakesh.
In other news I’m off to an event later and still have no idea what to wear and I really should be getting my skates on and getting ready.
You would think I would be an outfit planner and I am when it comes to my regular every day outfits but I’m always very last minute when it comes to getting dressed up to go somewhere.
Especially when I’m feeling like it would be quite nice to get into pyjamas and have an early night.
In such style circumstances I nearly always fall back on an old reliable go-to which is a jumpsuit as it’s a fully complete outfit and all I need to do is add an accessory or two and for some reason it always looks like you’ve made an effort when in fact very little effort has been made.
I have a khaki green denim one that I bought in Penneys last year and I may style that with a leopard print coat and some fringed ankle boots for this occasion. Looks like I’ve just solved my style dilemma!
