Aesthetics advice from the experts
As brides and grooms get ready to walk down the aisle, many are opting for aesthetic treatments.
With that in mind, Cork’s La Vida Aesthetics has given us some tips and advice for those planning their big day.
Research
Research clinics thoroughly and look for a clinic with an excellent reputation, that has experienced and qualified staff. Ensure the clinic and its practitioners are properly licensed and certified to perform aesthetic procedures.
Time
Allow as much time as possible before the wedding day to begin your treatment journey so that the best results are achieved.
You might want to have more than one consultation to ensure you build a good rapport with your aesthetic practitioner, so that they can build a bespoke treatment plan to address any concerns such as skin quality, skin volume and definition, or fine lines.
Experience
Visit an experienced skin therapist for a skin analysis, treatment plan and homecare prescription, as long as possible before the wedding. Using a customised skin care routine at home is essential for results, alongside regular skin treatments (tailored to your needs) will ensure you reach your goal of glowing, healthy skin on the big day. Consistency is key!
Stress
Managing stress will benefit your overall well-being, as well as help to maintain healthy radiant skin.
Try to practise yoga, meditation or deep breathing techniques to help you to deal with stressful situations. Stress can trigger acne breakouts and can also accelerate the skin’s ageing process leading to fine lines and wrinkles, as well as compromising the skin’s barrier function which may exacerbate conditions like rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.
Sleep
Aim to get seven+ hours of sleep per night to allow your body time for skin repair and rejuvenation. Lack of sleep can worsen inflammatory skin conditions and also imbalances hydration levels, causing skin to become dry or flaky. While you sleep your body produces collagen which helps to keep your skin looking youthful.
No to new
Don’t try any new treatment or products too close to the wedding, especially in the last four-six weeks, to avoid any reaction or irritation.
