Paddy Casey and his daughter Saoirse have been announced as the latest addition to the line-up for Joy in the Park 2024.
They will be joining an already stellar group of artists with legendary Dublin band Aslan headlining this year’s festival in July.
Joy in the Park is a free festival, organised in partnership with the Cork Mental Health Foundation, and will include a whole host of activities from arts and crafts to wellness workshops.
It began in June of 2021, when event organiser Linda Plover sadly lost a close family member whose name was Joy. The festival was organised as a celebration of Joy’s life and her love of music, the arts, writing poetry and short stories. Since Paddy Casey’s multi-platinum debut album ‘Amen (So Be It)’ in 1999, he has stood at the forefront of the Irish music scene. He has toured across the globe with acts like The Pretenders, R.E.M., Ian Brown, Blondie and Tracy Chapman, to name but a few.
Joining him on stage is Saoirse Casey, his daughter, who is following in her dad’s footsteps embarking on a successful music career in her own right.
With more acts set to be announced over the coming weeks, Joy in the Park is gearing up to be another amazing festival of great music, entertainment, well-being and Joy.
The festival will be held this summer, in Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork, on Sunday 21 July. It is free for everyone who attends and the Cork Independent is proud to a media sponsor for the event.
