Ann honoured with special award
The Chief Executive of Cork City Council has been honoured with a special presentation for being a judge for the Cork Person of the Year awards for the past 10 years.
Ann Doherty whose role with Cork City Council concludes this September, was presented with an inscribed Cork Crystal piece as a token of gratitude for her voluntary service.
The inscription reads ‘To Ann Doherty - for your dedication and commitment as Cork Person of the Year awards judge’. Ms Doherty said: “It has been an incredible honour to be involved with the Cork Person of the Year awards. This scheme is so significant in celebrating the outstanding contributions of individuals to the culture and community of Cork. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to be involved with the awards.”
Each year, the Chief Executives of Cork City Council and Cork County Council serve as judges for the award, with the Lord Mayor of Cork and the Mayor of the County of Cork presenting the awards each January.
“Now that Ann’s term has ended with Cork City Council, we also wish her well in her new career choices in the years ahead,” said Manus O’Callaghan.
