From the new Juvi Designs collection.

Amble opportunity

It’s no secret that jewellery is a great passion of mine.

I really do believe an outfit can be completely elevated with the right pieces of jewellery. In particular, I love anything gold and if you add in some gemstones, then that to me is just perfection.

I’ve long been a fan of award winning Irish jewellery brand Juvi Designs which has launched the stunning new Amble collection.

The collection is inspired by the natural beauty of Ireland's loughs and woodlands, so you just know this is going to be something special. The Amble collection draws on life's most precious memories.

As a child, Julie Danz, designer and co-founder of Juvi, spent many magical family days skimming pebbles and paddling in the clear waters of Glendalough, discovering the secrets of the wild Irish woodlands and sheltering from warm summer rain under the trees. Crafted with love and infused with childhood wonder, every Amble piece is designed to rekindle the joy of exploring, laughing and escaping into another world.

Some of Julie’s most cherished memories are of tiptoeing barefoot across smooth stepping stones and splashing in shallow woodland streams with her sisters. The Stepping Stone charms, ring, necklace, bracelet and studs (silver €59/gold €49) are a special homage to the joy of childhood freedom featuring sparkling, hand cut gemstones reminiscent of the light reflecting on water.

All of the stepping stone charms can be added to a selection of chains or clipped onto the statement Ripple chain which features individually crafted, organic shaped links. Polished pebble charms inspired by the shorelines of Ireland’s loughs can also be added or worn individually for a simple, versatile look.

The Dapple necklace in silver retails at €99 and the gold at €109 and would make a beautiful gift to mark a special occasion and like the bracelet, earrings studs and rings they all reflect the delicate shadows of evening sunlight filtering through trees.

The soft contours of the Ripple hoops echo the movement of water as stones are skimmed across the surface. In true Juvi style, The Amble Collection features four beautiful hand cut gemstones (green tourmaline, aqua chalcedony, labradorite and rose quartz) with four more being released this coming autumn.

Each natural gemstone has been ethically and sustainably sourced, with gems chosen as a nod to the shining pebbles at the lake shore and the contours of Ireland’s lakes and loughs. Better still as with all of Juvi's silver and gold is recycled so why not 'Amble' through the new collection exclusively at Juvi in Arnotts, Dublin, Brown Thomas, Cork and juvidesigns.com.

In other news, I recently began a sartorial love affair with shorts. I know they are quite a controversial option with many people shuddering at the thought of having to don a pair in the summer but I must say I’m quite taken with them.

More comfortable that a short skirt (no fear of it blowing up) and also just very easy to wear, I have been wearing mine with oversized t-shirts and flat sandals and obviously plenty of layers of jewellery to complete the look.

I purchased a great beige pair from H&M which have a rough hem and are the perfect length and they are perfect to style for dressy beer garden gatherings or even worn with a band tee and ankle boots for a gig.

Let’s make 2024 the summer of the shorts!
