The Lucy Sequin Set from Sinead Keary.

On your marks, co-ord set, go!

There’s one outfit I always make sure I have in my wardrobe to get me out of a style dilemma especially when it comes to dressing for an event or an occasion.

What is this magical outfit I hear you ask? It’s a matching co-ord of course.

Co-ord sets which is short for coordinated sets, are matching outfits consisting of two or more pieces designed to be worn together. Co-ords offer a convenient and effortless way to achieve a polished ensemble without the hassle of mixing and matching separates so essentially a bit like dressing by numbers.

I have built up quite the collection over the years and if I see something I like, and it has a matching top or bottom I simply have to get the set. It takes minimal styling effort, but you just instantly look more put together. I love a shirt and trousers set that has laid back dare I say, pyjama vibes which can look super dressy when paired with heels, gold jewellery and a fabulous clutch bag.

I’ve picked up a few plisse fabric sets from River Island and Monki in statement prints and these are go-to pieces in my wardrobe when I just need something that will make an impact and I always feel very confident styling these pieces for events.

You can also add a metallic chain belt if you want to cinch in the waist. Now if you want to really make a style statement, I’ve spotted The Lucy Sequin Set which is the final look from the Dawn to Dusk Capsule Resort Collection from Sinead Keary. Crafted from delicate, iridescent champagne sequins, this high summer set is made for sparkling sunsets.

Watch heads turn as the sequins catch the light and come alive with every movement. Versatile and chic, Lucy can be worn together or separately which of course is another bonus of picking up a great set.

You have so many styling options. The skirt works well with a cami, a wrap blazer or even dressed down somewhat with a t-shirt.

The Lucy top also looks stunning styled with shorts, trousers or with jeans and the satin tie closure at the centre front, with hidden hook and eyes underneath that allow it to be worn loose and open or closed for more coverage.

The top would also look great worn the opposite way round giving a gorgeous detailing at the back.

It’s a set that would be perfect for brides to be for their hen party or for a glam day two outfit.

There is of course a co-ord to suit all styles and if sequins or pyjama style prints aren’t your cup of tea, the matching set has gotten an update this season with linen waistcoat and trouser sets being more popular than ever.

It’s quiet luxury and looks so effortless whether you don this look for lunch with the girls or it can be in fact a great summer workwear look.

Linen doesn’t have to be all beige and neutral though. Last year I bought a black and white zebra print shirt and trousers from M&S and I have styled it I so many ways from adding a coloured heel and bold earrings for a night time look to wearing with the shirt open over my swimwear on holidays.

It really is very versatile and a piece I know I’ll be wearing for many summers to come.

The striped shorts and shirt set is also a great set to invest in and I always pack a few of these in my case for holidays. They take up very little room and I feel somewhat fancy even when lounging by the pool.
