Two in court following serious assault
Two men are due to appear before the courts this afternoon following a serious assault in West Cork over the weekend.
On Saturday shortly after 7pm, gardaí were called to the scene of an assault in Dunmanway. Two men in their 30s were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
The scene was examined by a garda forensic investigation team and an investigation began with gardaí looking for witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who was in the Ballyhalwick, Dunmanway between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday.
Anyone who had camera footage (including dash cam) from Ballyhalwick, Dunmanway during this timeframe was asked to make this available to gardaí.
On Sunday afternoon, gardaí said both injured men were in a serious but stable condition.
Gardaí have charged the two men who were arrested following an assault.
These two men, aged in their 30s and 70s, are due to appear before Bantry District Court today.
