The EV-ent of the year

A one-of-a-kind community-centred event featuring talks by experts within the renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) industry will take place in Cork this month.

Hosted by EV charger sharing platform, GoPlugable, The Electric Circle is a free event taking place from 5-7.30pm on 26 September at the Marina Market in Cork city.

The event focuses on homeowners who are interested in sustainability whether they already own an EV or not, offering a unique opportunity to meet and interact with experts.

It will consist of brief ‘lightning’ talks on a range of topics from event partners including SSE Airtricity, Myenergi, DCEV, and Cork City Council Climate Action Officer, Peter Medway.

It is a casual format event where attendees can ask questions and learn from other user experiences. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy free test drives of some of the newest and most affordable EV models to hit the market.

“With there being so much information out there today it can sometimes be hard to get the right information you need before making a big decision like switching to an electric vehicle or installing solar panels in your home,” said Maebh Reynolds, Co-founder of GoPlugable.

“So, we decided to form the Electric Circle to encourage engagement and learning from the experts and those that have real world experiences.

“It has been key for us to create an informal environment that is accessible to everyone regardless of the stage they are at and where there is no such thing as a silly question!” added Ms Reynolds.

It follows successful events in Dublin, Drogheda and Belfast. Register at theelectriccircle.com.
