Info evening on ADHD diagnosis and management
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental difference affecting around 5% of the population and ADHD Ireland Cork is hosting a special event next month in which a panel of healthcare professionals will share their expertise on ADHD.
ADHD can lead to challenges in organisation, focus, and self-regulation.
Meet The Experts is an evening designed to provide valuable knowledge about ADHD diagnosis and management.
It also offers an opportunity for attendees to deepen their understanding of ADHD from those who work with it every day.
The event takes place on Wednesday 9 October at 7.30pm in the Ballroom of The Metropole Hotel, Cork and is open to anyone already diagnosed with ADHD or is seeking a diagnosis.
The panel features Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Mary Evans, Senior Clinical Psychologist Dr Vicky Matthews, General Practitioner Dr Aoife O’Sullivan and Occupational Therapist Claire Considine. As well as discussing their work and expertise, they will answer questions from attendees.
Cork ADHD Ireland Service Development Manager, Martin Finn said: “This event aims to provide clear, expert guidance on navigating life with ADHD. It is poorly understood despite the debilitating impact it can have on daily life.
“The traits are often misinterpreted by others as lack of interest, care or motivation and this can lead to low self-esteem, poor mental health and anger issues which can result in school, work and relationship problems. Many adults with ADHD or parents of children with ADHD are unsure of the steps to take in relation to diagnosis and management and we hope to help with this by hosting this event.”
Tickets are available for €5 on Eventbrite or through the ADHD Ireland webpage:
