Sequins aren't just for party season
I know it’s only just the beginning of October but having spent an afternoon pottering about the shops, it’s clear to see there’s one thing on peoples’ minds and that’s party season.
While sequins were once the preserve of December, they have now made their way into our year round looks; dare I say into our capsule wardrobes and I have been known on occasion to rock a sequin skirt during the day.
With the right styling, a sequin skirt is perfect for a brunch date -add trainers, a simple t-shirt and blazer or bomber jacket over the top. When it comes to party wear, we no longer want to invest a lot of our hard earned cash into pieces that traditionally we might not have gotten the wear out.
Nowadays all you need are one or two dressy pieces that you can add to your wardrobe and transition an every day look into a glitzy party piece and the new collection from Sinead Keary The Label has done all the hard work so you don’t have to.
The collection is absolutely perfect for party season and features classic pieces with a glam twist. A sequin skirt, embellished shirt and beautiful knits are pieces that will easily elevate your wardrobe and take the stress out of getting dressed up when you may be time poor. You’ll always have a chic outfit to hand with this collection especially with stunning pieces such as the black blazer with feather cuff detail and black mini dress with cute bow embellishments all in a colour palette of easy to wear black and cream with a touch of powder blue thrown into the mix.
These are pieces you’ll wear again and again for any occasion. Classic neutrals are always a good idea when it comes to making the most out of your wardrobe and you can always add colour with shoes, handbags and jewellery.
Pieces like silky camis and skirts are invaluable when it comes to party wear with each of these being so easy to dress up or down and play around with texture to create unexpected looks.
I really adore a slip skirt with cashmere and a heel for an expensive looking party look and just add some statement jewels for that fashion cherry on top. I also and surprisingly even to myself do love a LBD.
It can be a little safe but with the right silhouette it can make you look so stylish and also can be a great base to show off beautiful, embellished jackets. I’m a jacket addict so I always need some base outfits to let the piece shine and you cant go wrong with a little black dress.
If dresses aren’t your thing then just substitute some tailored trousers and a form fitting black bodysuit. Wear the jacket for dinner and the body suit and trousers are perfect if the night turns into dancing which lets face it all good nights should end with an unexpected boogie.
This brings me nicely along to footwear and it’s essential you get this correct. A fab night out can be ruined by foot pain so make sure you can walk and dance in whatever shoes you’re wearing.
I have a couple of tried and tested pairs that I always have to hand if I’m not quite sure where the night will take me.
A gold or silver and black pair are always handy and even better if I can wear a block heeled boot with an outfit. Comfort is key to an enjoyable evening out!
