Former An Post offices in Cork towns set for auction

A selection of four former An Post properties have been put on the market in Cork.

The properties are located in Macroom, Kinsale, Skibbereen, and Bantry.

They are amongst 14 former An Post properties around the country set to be sold by American commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.

The entire transaction process is being facilitated through online auctioning platform Offr.

The properties include a mix of commercial and residential buildings and range in price from €100,000 to €800,000.

Offr’s platform ensures that every interested party, whether living next door or on the other side of the world, has 24/7 access to book viewings, access legal documents, and submit a qualified offer, creating a fair and open process.

All offers made via the platform are independently time-stamped and accompanied by financing conditions, proof of funds, and identity checks.

The technology is designed to eliminate barriers to ensure that both domestic and international buyers have the same opportunities to acquire prime assets.

Offr, previously used by Cushman & Wakefield for the sale of over 40 former Ulster Bank branches, recorded significant engagement, with more than 550 registered buyers and 750 offers submitted. Over 20,000 automated communications were issued.

Robert Hoban, Offr CEO, said: “We're excited to partner with Cushman & Wakefield on the sale of these unique and high-profile properties, building on the success of our recent commercial projects.

“Offr was designed to streamline property transactions for everyone involved, and these sales perfectly highlight how our platform is reshaping the buying and selling process by ensuring transparency and fairness at every step.”

The platform’s digital-first approach model offers significant advantages to real estate agents, buyers, and investors, especially in high-demand markets where properties are expected to draw attention from a wide pool of potential purchasers.

With properties available on a transparent and accessible platform, international investors can compete on an equal footing with local buyers, and agents can expect a smooth, technology-driven experience throughout the transaction process.
