Replacement bus service from Cork city to Mallow

No trains will run between Cork city and Mallow this weekend, Iarnród Éireann has confirmed

There will be no services operating between Kent Station and Mallow Station on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October as essential maintenance works are carried out.

Replacement bus services will run between Kent Station and Mallow Station for those two days and will accept valid rail tickets.

A statement said: “Along with ongoing works on a new through platform at Kent Station, new signalling across the full Cork commuter network and the twin-tracking of the Glounthaune to Midleton line, these essential works will ultimately help to facilitate the proposed capacity and service frequency increases, with the potential to treble existing service frequency to a 10-minute frequency on all Cork commuter routes in the future. Iarnród Éireann apologises for any inconvenience these essential works may cause.”
