Cork Flower Club is celebrating its 65 birthday next week with a special gala night.

65 years blooming

Cork Flower Club, which claims to be the oldest flower club in Ireland, is celebrating 65 years this year with a charity gala floral demonstration next week.

Taking place next Tuesday at 7.30pm in the GAA Hall in Douglas, the demonstrator for the gala night will be Cherie Nummy from Bangor, county Down.

Cherie is a noted floral art demonstrator, judge, and teacher who is much sought after by flower clubs across the Island of Ireland.

Her theme for the evening is 'Oh What a Great Panto' and all the creations made on the night will be raffled off.

The charities to benefit from the gala are autism charity As I AM, and the Alzheimer's Society.

Floral accessory wizard, Tim Mulchinock will also be present with his eclectic offerings of gizmos and gadgets.

Tickets are €20 and will be available at the door on the night in Douglas.
