With love from Ireland
A photographer has brought a piece of Ireland to her hometown of Bytom in Poland.
Anna Groniecka’s exhibition Kocham Ci jak Irlandi (I Love You Like Ireland) is being held at the Palace in Miechowice and offers a personal and captivating view of Ireland, where Groniecka has made her home for the past 18 years.
Now based in West Cork, she is celebrated for her evocative images that capture Ireland’s spirit, from its iconic landscapes to the subtle charm of everyday life.
This exhibition features both beloved Irish scenes and hidden gems, blending cultural snapshots with commentary that invites viewers to delve into Ireland’s history and traditions.
She said: “This is my tribute to Ireland – a place that has given me so much. I want people to see the Ireland I know and love, its landscapes, its character, and its people.”
The opening event brought a touch of Irish culture to Bytom, with treats like Tayto crisps and Barry’s Tea. Adding a personal touch, her son, Ben Cullinane, performed part of the Irish national anthem in Irish, bringing a unique connection to the evening.
