Glenn takes part in Mr World

A 28 year old from Togher represented Ireland last weekend at Mr World 2024 in in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Glenn Williamson was one of nearly 70 contestants from around the world competing for the coveted Mr World title. The competition ran from 5-23 November with segments taking place in the scenic coastal cities of Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan Province.

Glenn spent the month in Vietnam taking part in a series of events including Mr Sport, Mr Talent, National Costume, Top Model, Head-to-Head Challenge, and a closed-door interview and placed in the top 20 overall.

He said: “During my time here, I’ve been met with a kindness and generosity that has made me feel at home in a place halfway across the world. The locals are eager to share their culture and heritage, proud to connect with visitors in a way that makes every moment unforgettable. This spirit of openness and hospitality is what makes Vietnam truly special.”

Glenn said he was thrilled to be crowned Mr Ireland and was genuinely surprised with his win.

He has a 1.1 degree in Commerce from UCC, has played for Ireland in basketball, many TV appearances including ‘Blind Date UK’ and ‘First Dates Ireland’ and 10 years modelling with appearances on RTÉ, BBC, Virgin Media, Channel 5 and for Armani to name a few.

As a fitness model he has won various physique competitions and models for fitness magazine and photoshoots.

He is a qualified personal trainer and lifeguard, accredited life coach, salesperson and founder of GW Alpha Coaching.
