Singer/songwriter Jack L will perform on Friday and Saturday night at the venue.

Music galore this festive season in East Cork

A much-loved East Cork coastal venue is set to host a range of acts between now and the new year. Sea Church in Ballycotton will provide entertainment throughout the Christmas season, with the legendary Jack L topping the bill on Friday and Saturday 20 and 21 December as well as a retro party for fans of ‘80s and ‘90s music on New Year’s Eve.

Jack L, AKA Jack Lukeman, is no stranger to Sea Church and the Kildare native is expected to treat audiences once again to his unique style of rock, jazz and cabaret, with a career spanning over two decades and hit songs like ‘Georgie Boy’ and ‘The King of Soho’.

Other highlights on the Sea Church calendar this Christmas include Gina and the Champions, who have added a third date to their billing at the unique venue - they’re back by popular demand on 29 December.

Meanwhile New Year’s Eve at Sea Church is an excuse to don the leg warmers and mullet wigs, with Flash Dance. Hosted by BMG Sound, the ‘80s/’90s themed party will feature a high-energy DJ set with all the old favourites from that era, live dancers and a retro photo booth to capture the best throw-back looks on the night.

Commenting on the festive season, General Manager of Sea Church John Kidney said: “We always aim to offer the best variety possible for gig-goers and this Christmas is no exception. It’s fantastic to have Jack L back at Sea Church for two nights, he’s always a great crowd pleaser. People really look for a fun party on New Year’s Eve and Flash Dance should be exactly that.

“We also have a visit from the big man himself, Santa, on the afternoon of Sunday 22 December. He’s busy this time of year so it’s a real honour that he’s coming to Sea Church to meet boys and girls from East Cork and beyond.”
