Medicine meets music at CUH
One group is on a mission to take music off the concert stage and bring it into the heart of communities. In this case, it’s the children’s ward in CUH.
That’s Music & Health Ireland who aim to create and deliver equitable performances that comfort and connect and with the help of the National Concert Hall, they are bringing Music in Children’s Hospitals: Kids Classics to CUH.
The National Concert Hall has had an ongoing partnership since 2009 with Music & Health Ireland to bring live music to children’s hospitals nationwide to provide entertainment and relaxation to young patients.
Music & Health Ireland comprises a team of musicians trained in the delivery of music in healthcare settings.
Forvis Mazars has been announced as the sponsor of the National Concert Hall’s programme at CUH.
Speaking at the launch of the Forvis Mazars sponsorship of the initiative in CUH, Fiona Byrne, Lead Partner, Forvis Mazars, Cork, said: “Music has a unique ability to uplift, comfort and inspire, especially in healthcare settings.
