Brilliant Bríd stars on TG4 tonight

The latest ‘Laochra Gael’ episode airing tonight on TG4 will feature Cork’s own Bríd Stack.
Bríd played a pivotal role in one of the greatest ever teams in ladies gaelic football as part of the Cork team of the 2000s. Playing for the Cork team as a strong defender and leader, she amassed an incredible 11 All-Ireland titles throughout her career.
After her retirement from GAA, she pursued a new sport and a new challenge in a new country. when she and her family moved to Australia to play AFL Women's (AFLW), Australia’s national semi-professional Australian rules football league for female players.
Bríd has also been an advocate for women’s health and has openly spoken about her experiences with miscarraige and suffering a serious back injury. She has also spoken about the important role of sport in overcoming difficult times.
The show will be on tonight at 9.30pm and is directed by Aisling Ní Fhlaithearta, she will star along with Michael Stack and other Cork greats Valerie Mulcahy, Nollaig Casey and Rena Buckley.
The new ‘Laochra Gael’ season has featured several other sporting legends such as Pádraic Maher, one of Tipperary’s greatest hurlers and Ronan Clarke who helped Armagh achieve All Ireland status at just 19 years old.
Speaking about the new season of the show, Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns said: “I warmly welcome the announcement of yet another series of ‘Laochra Gael’ showcasing as it does some of the greatest players from the wider Gaelic games family.”

The new season of ‘Laochra Gael’ contains 8 new episodes, with the follow up to Bríd being Cork’s star hurling twins Ben and Jerry O’Connor. Watch it every Thursday at 9.30pm on TG4.
