A celebration of wellness and self-care

By Daniel O’Neill

Although it’s well in the new year, a prominent hotel recently ran a special wellness event for self-care, mindfulness, and personal growth.

Last Sunday, Anú Spa at The Brehon Hotel & Spa ran Anú Year, Anú You, which brought together experts in fields like health, skincare and motivation to have open discussions in their respected fields.

On arrival guests were provided with refreshments and were brought to a guided breathwork session with Fiona Collins, a spa and wellness consultant. The session involved prioritising self-care, whether through a professional treatment or simply taking a moment to breathe.

Fiona Collins said: "Wellness isn’t just about what we do in a spa, it’s about creating daily habits that support our mind and body. Events like this remind us to slow down, breathe, and prioritise ourselves in a world that moves fast. Anú Spa is setting the standard for holistic well-being, and it’s exciting to see this community grow."

Guests then went to a talk on women's health led by Dr Máire Cleary of Mná Clinic Killarney.

Following up from this guests were greeted by Sally Foran, otherwise known as ‘Irish Beauty Fairy’ who shared her expert knowledge on skincare, emphasising the role of a good routine in ageing well inside and out.

Broadcaster, performance coach and bestselling author Anna Geary gave a talk on becoming the best version of yourself and got the crowd to take part in an impromptu squat challenge.

Guests were then also treated to a lunch and were given the opportunity to shop the exclusive Anú x Íon skincare collaboration. Guests were also given a luxury goodie bag valued at over €175, bringing the total event value to €230. The sold-out event was in partnership with Irish Country Magazine.
