A partnership which began in 2018 is set to continue between Cork City FC and the Bon Secours Hospital, it was confirmed this week.
The soccer club has announced that the hospital will return as their healthcare partner for this year’s SSE Airtricity League season. This will give player’s access to a range of treatments available such as MRIs and x-rays, as well as access to heart screenings.
Dermot Usher, owner of Cork City FC added: “Our sponsors are a valued and integral part of Cork City FC and having the continued support of the Bon Secours Hospital is hugely welcomed. We strive to bring the best out in all our teams including the senior men and women’s teams, the Academy, amputee team and Down Syndrome Futsal Team. Knowing that we have top-class medical treatments and facilities provided by the hospital is held in the highest regard by all our players, coaching and medical staff and I would like to thank the Bon Secours team for their support.”
Harry Canning, CEO of the Bon Secours Hospital Cork said: “This is an exciting year for Cork City FC as they take on other Premier Division teams both in Turner’s Cross and around the country. We know that the club is important to so many people in Cork and we are proud to be able to provide the players and staff with the invaluable services of our sports medicine department which has been working closely with the club’s medical department since the partnership began.”
Declan Bowler will also act as the club’s principal Specialist Sports Med/Orthopaedic Consultant. The hospital’s logo will also continue to be displayed on the men’s first team shorts to celebrate their collaboration.
