No arrests yet for suspected arson attack
Gardaí are yet to make any arrests as they continue to investigate a suspected arson attack on a house on Cork city’s northside last night.
The suspected attack took place at around 9pm on a residence in Dublin Pike.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the attack, but it has been reported that a number of people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Last night emergency services attended the scene after the alarm was raised. The scene was closed off for forensic examination.
It is understood the fire took over two hours to bring under control.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí attended the scene of incident of suspected arson that occurred at a residence in the Ballincrokig area of Co. Cork at approximately 9pm last night Thursday, 24 April 2025.
“No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time.
“The scene remains preserved for technical and forensic examination.
“Investigations are ongoing,” they concluded.
