Suspected trafficking as three men rescued
Investigations are continuing after three men, suspected of being trafficked into the country, were rescued in North Cork this week.
The men were found and are receiving help following an intelligence-led operation which took place on Sunday in relation to suspected human trafficking in the Cork North Garda Division.
Two premises, one in Charleville and one in Mallow, were searched on foot of warrant. 24 adults who were present at the time were interviewed.
The search took place with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit, the Southern Region Dog Unit and gardaí from across North Cork division.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed: “Three adult males, who it is suspected were recently trafficked into Ireland, were removed from the properties and are receiving assistance.”
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson said.
