Put your hands up, Cork!
Hands in the air! Cork is set to welcome some of the world’s top DJs for a one-off event at Live at the Marquee this weekend.
Some of the industry’s biggest electronic names including Sonny Fodera and Gorgon City will get behind the decks at the Docklands for a special one day festival on Saturday 22 June, appropriately titled One Day.
Gorgon City, consisting of Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott, boast over 676 million combined streams to date. Delivering their ‘Escape’ album last year featuring singles such as ‘One Last Song’ with Yungen and JP Cooper, ‘Go Deep’ with Kamille and Ghosted and D Double E collaboration ‘Hear That’, the duo are best known for their smash 2014 hit ‘Ready for Your Love’.
Joining them will be Sonny Fodera, the Australian-born DJ who has hit 40 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music, while chart topping DJs Route 94 and Waz and Odyssey have also been added to the bill.
Speaking to the Cork Independent, Gorgon City’s Matt Robson-Scott said the band is currently focusing on single releases on its label Realm. Gorgon City return to Cork for the first time since headlining MTV Crashes Cork in City Hall with Jessie Ware in 2014.
“We’re continuing writing our next album while we’re putting out singles and working constantly on different projects, as well as releases on our own label Realm.
“We’re always moving around, sometimes in the States, the UK, Ibiza, so it’s just trying to fit studio time around that at the moment.
“Irish crowds are always amazing, we love coming to Ireland and we’re looking forward to getting back there,” he said.
One Day at Live at the Marquee takes place on Saturday 22 June.
