Charity race day at Cork Racecourse

Get your finery ready as there’s a best dressed competition galloping to Mallow.

Cork Racecourse will welcome a stellar line up of racing and fashion in the coming weeks all in the name of charity as the Mallow track gears up for its race day in aid of Marymount University Hospital and Hospice on Saturday 17 August.

While the horses battle it out for first place on the track, racegoers will be putting their most fashionable foot forward in the best dressed competition as they bid to win one of the coveted prizes on offer from Louis Copeland & Sons, Lennon Courtney and Lee Travel.

Irish powerhouse fashion label Lennon Courtney will sponsor the best dressed lady competition. The winner will get a one-on-one styling session with Brendan Courtney, as well as a €200 voucher to spend on Lennon Courtney in Dunnes Stores.

Brendan Courtney said: “I am very excited to be judging on 17 August, as well as styling the winning lady in Lennon Courtney’s new collection! The fashion is always fantastic at race days and it will definitely be a great day out for a really amazing cause.”

Sponsoring the best dressed man competition is Louis Copeland & Sons. The winner will receive a made to measure suit from the renowned brand.

The most stylish couple on the day will also see their fashion efforts rewarded with a prize sponsored by travel agent Lee Travel. This includes flights to London with a hotel stay and two champagne London Eye tickets.

All proceeds from the day will go directly to Marymount’s specialist community palliative care services. This vital service offers support to people who are living at home with a serious illness in Cork city and county and is completely free of charge, running seven days a week.

Tickets for the event are available to purchase at corkracecourse.ie.
