CAT Club is saved by a whisker

The Cork Arts Theatre has been saved thanks to the generosity of the people of Cork, and now the theatre wants to give something back to the city it serves.

To do this, the theatre has invited Cork’s public to engage with its new project ‘CAT O’ 9 Tales’, a programme of videos created by actors, poets, playwrights, directors and creative people of all persuasions who volunteered their services to the theatre and to the project.

The project is composed of images, videos, tales of past adventures, poets reading their work, actors and others reading their favourite writing and a host of other delights.

A spokesperson for the Cork Arts Theatre said: “What artists need is encouragement and communication from their peers and, crucially, from audiences. And what audiences need is something to brighten their days, entertain and enlighten their minds, and exercise their imaginations during these tough times.”

The programme of videos is free to watch on corkartstheatre.com with the option of donating to a special production fund set up to support new work in the coming year.

“We hope this rich and diverse series of videos will lift all our spirits and enable our audience to cherish the unforgettable specialness of what artists create. We believe this is the key to getting through this and onwards to great, joyful liveness once again. We ask everyone to settle in and enjoy these special presentations and keep the little theatre with the big heart going strong.”

‘CAT O’ 9 Tales’ is available to enjoy now at corkartstheatre.com.
