Do you want a chance to dance once more?
Have you always wanted to learn how to dance? Or maybe you just want to brush up a little on your existing dancing skills for a special event?
Well, you’re in luck. Cork Dance Club is open again and is getting ready to commence its new introductory starters’ courses to coincide with Strictly Come Dancing’s 2021 series.
For these fun group lessons, dancers can bring along their own dance partner or can come alone and be paired up with a fellow learner.
“At Cork Dance Club, our philosophy is as simple as ‘A, B, C D – Any Body Can Dance’,” said dance instructor Anne.
She added: “Everyone has the potential to be a dancer with the proper instruction and confidence. Learning to dance is no different from learning any other discipline. It may feel awkward at first, that’s to be expected.
“Eventually you will master the basics and be able to dance with full enjoyment without having to think about it. You will be able to just feel it and dance. The good news is learning to dance is always fun, even in the early stages.”
Students will be taught each move step-by-step and will always be building on what they have already learned, which helps develop muscle memory and confidence.
Cork Dance Club’s lessons encompass many different styles including, waltz, jive, quickstep, tango, cha cha cha, foxtrot, samba, rumba and lots more.
“Here at Cork Dance Club we like to get to know all our students and regularly hold social events such as week-end dances, a Valentine’s Ball, weekends away and an annual dance holiday in Spain where you can come and meet new people and show off your dancing skills,” explained Anne.
The new classes start next Thursday 28 October and will be held in Ardscoil an Ghort Alainn in Mayfield at 7pm, and the GAA Hall in Blarney at 9.15pm.
“Our speciality is adult lessons. So, if you’re between the ages of 18 and 88 years old, you are welcome to explore the world of dance with us at Cork Dance Club. If you think your age has anything to do with your ability to dance, you’re wrong. We believe it’s never too early or late to fall in love with dance,” said Anne.
