Kick start your career with Innopharma Education
Looking to build your career in the pharmaceutical, med tech and food industries?
Information on how to do just that will be available from Innopharma Education at a Cork Open Evening taking place in Griffith College Cork on 14 June from 6-7.30pm where you can hear about all its Springboard and HCI Funded courses commencing in September 2022.
There’s also an opportunity to speak to members of staff and ex-students from 5pm to give a greater insight of the course content and their experiences.
Ann Mitchell, Cork Programme Manager with Innopharma Education, said: “These programmes develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in addition to the industry knowledge and know-how. All Innopharma programmes are developed with a focus on industry and are delivered through a mixture of highly experienced academic and industry lecturers.”
Commenting on her own experience, Higher Diploma in Food Science and Technology graduate, Halima Abdulkarim said: “From a chef manager to a quality assurance assistant, what can I say? As Covid-19 hit, the hospitality industry had no job prospects. This drove me to apply for the course in September 2020.
“The guidance and support from the lecturers was incredible. Upon finishing the course, programme directors Catriona Horgan and Michael King contacted me in relation to a job opportunity in a yogurt manufacturing company. I interviewed and was later offered the role of quality assurance assistant.”
Another former student, Dwane Power, who has a Certificate in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Technologies and Degree in Pharmaceutical Business Operations, said: “I completed the certificate course with Innopharma but was interested in learning more so I enrolled in the degree in pharmaceutical business operations.
“The delivery of these courses allowed me to work full-time while gaining a valuable qualification. I am now in full-time employment with a leading Cork-based company and I am approaching my first full year there. My job is interesting, demanding and rewarding, with so much more to learn. My only regret is that I didn’t pursue it sooner!”
