2 arrested and €100,000 in drugs seized

Gardaí have arrested 2 men and seized over €100,000 worth of drugs following a search in Cobh last night.

Cocaine estimated to be worth €90,580 and cannabis valued at €10,240 were seized during the search which took place just before 9pm yesterday, Monday, evening.

2 men, who are both in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and taken to Cobh Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act (Drug Trafficking), 1996.

The drugs seized will now be sent to undergo further analysis and gardaí have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

The seizure and arrests were made as part of Operation Tara, a national anti-drugs strategy designed to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
