Mobile vaccination heading for Clon

West Cork’s mobile vaccination unit will be stopping in Clonakilty GAA Club tomorrow, Thursday, ahead of the festive season.

Cork Kerry Community Healthcare is encouraging everyone to top up their protection against viruses this winter by making sure they are up to date with their Covid-19 vaccinations in the run-up to Christmas.

As part of efforts to make it as easy as possible to access Covid-19 vaccinations, the mobile vaccination unit will run a pop up clinic at Clonakilty GAA club on Thursday 8 December and will be open from 10am-12.30pm and from 1.20-3pm.

You can book an appointment or just walk up on the day. It’s a good idea to check your eligibility online on HSE.ie before you booking your appointment or attending as a walk-in.

Cora Hayes, vaccination lead at the West Cork vaccination clinic said: “There is still time to boost your protection before Christmas. If you get your vaccination this week, you will have the best protection possible by the time Christmas comes in just over two weeks time. Covid-19 is still here, and topping up your vaccination is the best way to reduce the chance of your festive plans being disrupted.”

She added: “We’re delighted to be back at Clonakilty GAA, where we ran successful vaccination clinics last year. We thank Clonakilty GAA and we encourage everyone eligible to come along and get their Covid-19 vaccine in a fast, friendly and safe setting.”

Head of Health and Wellbeing with Cork Kerry Community Healthcare Gabrielle O’Keeffe said: “Our clinics are open over the coming days and we are inviting those who require either a first dose, second dose or a booster dose. Topping up on your vaccinations will give you the best protection from serious illness caused by Covid-19.”
