I can’t go a day without wearing jewellery
We’ve made it through January and if, like me, you were on a no spend month, then now could be the perfect time to treat yourself to a little something.
Whereas at times I can feel guilty for buying new clothes, I never feel bad about investing in great quality jewellery especially if it’s from a fabulous Irish label like Scribble and Stone. The Irish jewellery brand have just launched a stunning new collection consisting of every day pieces, made to last and that will be a part of your collection forever.
While I love a great statement piece of jewellery, I also want classic with a twist, well made bits I can layer and wear every day - be that worn with jeans and a blazer or to jazz up my casual work from home attire.
I’m not someone who can go a day without jewellery, so I always like to have a couple of go to pieces that I wear daily and this new collection is perfect for that.
Scribble & Stone was founded by Irish designer Jenny Kiernan. Frustrated with the lack of quality and durability in the fashion jewellery market, Jenny began making jewellery for herself and from these small beginnings a business was born.
Jenny and the team at Scribble & Stone work with a large variety of materials including metal, laser-cut perspex and cut glass among others.
They collaborate with a network of high quality suppliers in Ireland and abroad who manufacture the components used in the range. Once each component is developed or sourced from ethical manufacturers, it is hand-finish into beautiful contemporary jewellery in their design studio based in Rathmines, a leafy suburb on the edge of Dublin city centre.
As a brand Scribble & Stone are deeply committed to making the business grow in a way that is sustainable. Always striving to pursue ethical business practices, this stunning new collection of minimal, timeless jewellery is made to layer and last.
With a selection of gold bracelets, necklaces and earrings, each piece is made with 14kt goldfill, unlike the many gold plated pieces commonly sold by similar brands today.
From delicate huggie hoops that can be worn every day to create the perfect curated ear, to stunning beaded stacking bracelets - sold separately or as a set of 3 - Scribbe & Stone is Irish, ethical and made to last.
Buy less, buy better is at the heart of the Scribble & Stone ethos.
Jennifer said: “When designing pieces I am a collector of materials, chains, findings, etc. I could literally design an entire collection around one new bead that I have fallen in love with! I collect so many materials, chains, beads, etc. If I go to a new country I will hunt out a material or component store and get samples of whatever catches my eye.
“It tends to be instinctive - what I am drawn to, texture or colour or material - I have learnt to only go with elements that I truly love. Then back in the studio we will look at what is happening currently in fashion and jewellery, so lots of research and trend analysis. It is important to look at trends because that will dictate the way the market is going and what the buyers will be interested in.”
