Three ways to scent your day
Add a little extra fragrance to your life.
As a former perfumery employee, the one thing that really inspires me is fragrance. In recent years, I've come to adore the world of home scents. They have a magical ability to infuse the day with a sense of occasion. This week I have chosen three different mediums of scent to help you add a little extra fragrance to your life.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Drops, €31
Marc Jacobs Daisy Drops signature capsules for her, is the newest product in the Daisy Marc Jacobs fragrance collection. Tiny, innovative and fun, take your Daisy anywhere with these sustainable single-dose fragrance capsules. A playful celebration of the classic Marc Jacobs perfume, this travel-friendly fragrance for women is designed to conveniently fit in your hand, bag or pocket for touch-ups on the go. Each sustainable aluminium tin holds 30 capsules and is decorated with a halo of the signature daisy icons. Take a capsule and twist, squeeze and apply, for a scent that lasts all day long. Apply the perfume to pulse points on the body such as the neck, wrists and décolletage.
La Bougie Sage and Bitter Orange Candle, €30
Blending herbal notes with punchy orange tree moments, Kinsale’s La Bougie's sage & bitter orange candle is enriched with a layered, fresh, and invigorating perfume. Incorporating the blossom, wood, and fruit of the orange tree into the scent, it doesn't succumb to unnecessary sweetness, but lifts and spruces its surroundings. Boasting fragrance notes of petitgrain, mandarin and geranium, the sage and bitter orange candle hand-poured at their West Cork perfumery has a 50 hour burn time and the diffuser will keep for 3-6 months depending on room environment.
Prada Paradoxe Intense EDP, from €82
Prada Paradoxe Intense is a timeless floral bouquet that is pushed to extremes: the freshness of the Neroli bud, is supported by bursts of bergamot and neroli essence. This freshness is contrasted by the jasmine. In the background, musks of natural origin transcend one another. Serenolide is accompanied by moxalone, giving way to an amber signature. The ambrofix resulting from biotechnology vibrates even more, while the infusion of vanilla bourbon fuses with the natural vanillin extracted from rice.
