Gardaí investigate serious road accident in Buttevant

A man is being treated for serious injuries following a motorbike accident in Cork on Thursday.

The incident occurred at Buttevant on the N20 Cork to Limerick road at approximately 10.30pm on Thursday.

Gardaí said no other vehicle was involved in the incident.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man, who is in his 50s, was rushed to CUH to be treated for serious injuries.

The road is currently closed off and gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward to them.

Anyone who was travelling in the area of Ballybeg in Buttevant, between 10pm and 11pm, and has video camera footage, including dash-cam, is asked to make it available to gardaí.
