Homework is the worst!
It’s official! Returning to homework and the early morning start are the two toughest things about heading back to school according to a recent survey.
Commissioned by personalised name labels manufacturer MyNametags.ie, the survey has revealed the top five things Irish parents dread the most as their kids prepare to return to school.
Topping the list and surprising no one is homework with 48% of participating parents saying it is as difficult for them as it is for their kids.
A close second is the unenviable task of getting the kids out of bed in the morning with 47% of parents dreading that the most.
Some even remarked on how during weekends it doesn’t seem to be such a problem!
In third place with 40% is the classic and always stressful rush to get everyone out the door in good time. Some parents, depending on the ages of their kids, might have a number of stops at different times along their school run. Nightmare!
The return of the evening bedtime routines comes fourth with 35% of parents dreading it above all else.
Finally, in fifth but still the scariest part of the school return for 31% of parents, was prepping lunches, something many of them said gets harder day by day, week by week.
Beyond the top five, 20% of parents admitted that the toughest part of returning to school was getting themselves out of bed in the morning, never mind the children!
