Shine Centre for Autism announces new partnership
One of Cork’s most loved charities has secured a new partnership, this time with a global food and drink company.
PepsiCo Ireland last week announced a new partnership with the Shine Centre for Autism, a community-based charity providing vital support services to children and families in the Carrigaline area.
The partnership comes as part of PepsiCo’s ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its 50for50 campaign, reinforcing its dedication to supporting its local communities in meaningful ways. PepsiCo Carrigaline Plant Director Vince Goggin first became aware of the vital work being done by the Shine Centre through the experiences of PepsiCo employees, whose children have benefited directly from Shine’s services. Recognising the impact the centre has had on the local community, PepsiCo organised a CSR day earlier this year where frontline employees volunteered at the centre, repainting and revitalising the facility's interior.
During a visit to the centre, Olivia O’Neill, PepsiCo Ireland Charity Lead, met with Shine General Manager Kieran McAuliffe to discuss how the company could further support the centre’s mission. The immediate need identified was the restoration of an outdoor garden space to enhance the experience for older children who utilise the centre’s services.
In response, PepsiCo is pleased to announce a donation of €10,000 to Shine Autism Centre to help with this restoration project. Additionally, PepsiCo donated two iPads and €500 worth of educational and fun toys to support the learning and development of the children who attend the centre.Olivia O’Neill, Supply Chain Associate Manager & PepsiCo Ireland Charity Lead, said: “It is hugely important to PepsiCo that we support our communities in a mindful and responsible way. By partnering with Shine Autism Centre, we are not only giving back to the community but ensuring that the wonderful staff and clients of Shine have the resources they need to continue their incredible work.”
Shine General Manager, Kieran McAuliffe, expressed his gratitude. “We are incredibly thankful for PepsiCo's generosity. The funds, technology, and educational resources will make a huge difference to the children and families who rely on our services, especially as we work to create a refreshed and welcoming outdoor space.”
The Shine Centre for Autism offers critical support services to children on the autism spectrum and their families, helping them navigate daily challenges with tailored educational and developmental programmes. The donation from PepsiCo will provide resources allowing Shine to continue expanding its support offerings for local families. This partnership underscores PepsiCo’s ongoing efforts to invest in the wellbeing of its community, ensuring that every contribution has a lasting and positive impact.
