Couldn’t care more

Cork carer Ana Scetnikova has been named Cork’s carer of the year in the 2024 Right at Home Carer of the Year awards.
Scetnikova‘s regional success qualifies her for the national finals of the award, which will take place in November.
The awards were established in 2020 to recognise the work undertaken by carers, with nominations chosen by those that they work closest with- clients and their families, coworkers, and managers.
Speaking about her win, Scetnikova said she was delighted to be nominated, describing how the bond between staff and clients was paramount in her work.
“I am grateful for the acknowledgement and appreciation of my efforts and proud to represent my wonderful colleagues at Right at Home Cork,” she said.
Scetnikova will be one of six finalists from all over Ireland at the awards ceremony, with the final stages of judging beginning in the coming weeks.
The winner of the national finals will be announced on 8 November, at a special awards ceremony in Athlone.
Managing Director of Right at Home Cork, Cian O’Sullivan described Scetnikova as a credit to the team, describing how she “goes above and beyond for our clients, and does so with a smile on her face”.
“We take pride in carefully selecting the right members to join our close-knit team. Ana is a shining example of a high standard of care and diligence we strive to show towards our clients,” he said.
“We are immensely proud of Ana’s achievements thus far and want to wish her the best of luck in the national final this November.”
