It’s a workshop for peat’s sake!

An educational wildlife protection group based in Cork will host a workshop on peatlands and climate change this weekend.

This Saturday from 1-3.30pm Cork Nature Network invites one and all to attend an educational and inspiring workshop focused on the vital role of peatlands in combating climate change.

Taking place at Two Green Shoots, Tooreen House, Glengarriff, Co. Cork, the event will delve into how peatlands serve as essential carbon sinks, support biodiversity, and play a key role in regulating the earth's climate.

Led by ecologist Albert Nolan, attendees will gain practical insights and hands-on experience, learning about the crucial role peatlands play in safeguarding the planet.

The workshop is perfect for nature enthusiasts, environmental advocates, and anyone eager to deepen their understanding of the natural world.

The venue location will also allow Cork Nature Network to share a flavour of the incredible surrounding landscape with a range of warming drinks served to celebrate wild botanicals gathered sustainably across Esk Mountain.

This workshop is part of the Peatlands and Natura Community Engagement Scheme, funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
