No chimney? No problem!

Santa can enjoy a few extra cookies and glasses of milk this Christmas thanks to a magic portal taking chimneys out of the equation.

Broadcaster and children's author Lucy Kennedy recently joined Glenveagh Properties to launch the return of the North Portal, a magical way to let Santa visit your house without the use of a chimney, all in support of Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.

The portal can be activated online at thenorthportal.ie and with every activation, Glenveagh will donate €1 to the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation, up to a total of €50,000. The portal can also be activated at various locations across Ireland during the festive period where children can meet the Glenveagh elves.

Ms Kennedy said: “It's such a fantastic initiative, bringing the spirit of Christmas to life while supporting the incredible work of the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation. Knowing that each activation helps families spend precious time together at home this Christmas is truly special.”

After activating the North Portal, children will receive a personalised certificate from Santa himself, acknowledging their support for the hundreds of children under the care of Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, and confirming their place on the Nice List.

On Christmas Eve, the North Portal will magically appear when the children are fast asleep, allowing Santa easy access to the home for quick and efficient present delivery.

Eileen O’Malley, PR and Communications Manager at Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, said: “This Christmas, we're asking everyone to join us in supporting this magical initiative from our wonderful friends at Glenveagh. By activating the North Portal and spreading the festive cheer, you're directly contributing to the vital in-home nursing care and respite support we provide to over 400 families nationwide.

“With your help, we can reach our goal and make a real difference this Christmas.”

All donations will contribute towards the foundation’s Home for Christmas appeal by funding up to 55,000 hours of in-home nursing care for families across Ireland, allowing children with highly complex and life-limiting medical conditions to stay at home with their families where they belong.

Martin Clancy, Senior Marketing Manager at Glenveagh, said: “Christmas is a magical time for children, and we're thrilled to partner with Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation to bring that magic to even more families this year and support their Home for Christmas Appeal.

“At Glenveagh, we believe that every child deserves a magical Christmas, and we're proud to play a part in making that happen.”

Jack and Jill is a nationwide charity that funds and provides up to 100 hours per month of in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of six, with severe learning disability associated with complex medical needs.
