Christmas fundraiser offers one-off jersey for auction

A very special fundraiser offering a truly unique prize takes place next week in Blackrock.

The Christmas Charity event on Friday 20 December will feature a silent auction for a Cork jersey signed by all 15 captains from the Cork All-Ireland hurling and football winning teams from 1966–2010. The jersey is also signed by many other Cork legends - a very special item indeed!

To have a chance to win the jersey in the silent auction, you write your bid on a piece of papers along with your name and phone number and the highest bid wins. The winner can remain anonymous if they choose!

It’s a €10 cash donation at the door and there will be raffle tickets available for some fabulous spot prizes.

One of the spot prizes is a Cork jersey signed by the 2025 Cork senior hurling team, generously donated by former Cork hurler Wayne Sherlock.

The charities to benefit this year are The School of the Divine Child (Lavanagh Centre) and the Cork Branch of Parkinsons Ireland.

There will be live music featuring The Tinny Shed Band and the Perpetual Motion choir from Parkinson’s Ireland, Cork branch who will start off the night. DJ Ken Murphy will keep the dance floor hopping.

The night is on at Blackrock Hurling Club at 8pm on Friday 20 December.

If you are unable to attend on the night, you can still donate online by contacting Mark Slowey 087-7938186, Eamon Kavanagh 085-2549816 or Donal O’Mahony 086-1929704.
