Three year old Cora Murphy from Ovens and her mother Ciara Deasy meeting Santa at the South Infirmary University Victoria Hospital.

Santa’s sleigh pulls up in Cork

Santa was a busy man on Leeside recently visiting a few hospitals and spreading some joy along the way.

Once the Coast Guard dropped him safely to CUH, it was then on the Mercy University Hospital and South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital.

It was all thanks to Kinsale Lions Club who gave out some gifts and shared a moment of Christmas spirit. Carols sung by Amanda Neri accompanied by a band from the Southern Command of the Irish Defence Forces.

Margaret McKiernan, Chief Executive Officer of Mercy University Hospital thanked the volunteers at Kinsale & District Lions Club for their support: “On behalf of the team at Mercy University Hospital, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Kinsale & District Lions Club for their incredible generosity and unwavering commitment to bringing holiday cheer to our patients.

“The annual Santa visit is a truly special occasion that brightens the spirits of everyone involved, from our patients on the wards to our dedicated staff who look forward to this heartwarming tradition each year. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact the Lions Club has on our hospital community during the holiday season.”
